Rockford — On a warm morning, a third-grader found a cozy spot on the lawn outside Ric’s Food Center to read his new Captain Underpants book. Nearby, a preschooler proudly held up two Berenstain Bears books — her favorites — after stepping off a rolling library. The Rockford Book Bus is a new addition to learning resources in Rockford this summer, making four stops a day in a converted school bus to bring books to children and families in their neighborhoods.
