Rockford — Tom Hosford is the new principal at Rockford High School (10-12 Building).
Previous positions in the district: Hosford is in his 19th year in education. He previously was principal at the Rockford Freshman Center, and before that, principal at Crestwood Elementary, assistant principal at Rockford High School and East Rockford Middle School, student activities coordinator at East Rockford Middle School and teacher at East Rockford Middle School.
On changing grade levels: Over the course of his career, Hosford has worked with students throughout grades K-12. “After reflecting on my experience, my approach to working with all students is simple: Support student learning and growth in academics and co-curricular opportunities. Whatever it takes.”
What he’s most excited about in this new position: “I am excited to work alongside an incredible community of life-long learners and educational supporters, as well as partner with families, to achieve a safe climate for our students to learn and grow into capable and successful adults in the next chapter of their lives.”
