Lowell — Dan VanderMeulen is the new director of curriculum for Lowell Area Schools.
Previous positions in the district: VanderMeulen began working for the district 12 years ago as the middle school principal, and has been building principal in more than one district for the previous 18 years.
What he’s most excited about in this new position: “I am looking forward to working with staff on a broader level. We are striving to improve our MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports) process, including academic achievement, behavior systems and increasing the level of social/emotional learning support for students.
“I am proud of our district and am a long-time community member. Lowell Schools has long been a trusted organization. Continuous improvement should always be our goal to create high-quality learning for every student, in every classroom, every day.”
