Ed tech consultant recognized with Excellence Award

Kent ISD — Sarah Wood thrives on serving others and celebrating their successes. Now others are getting a chance to celebrate hers.

An educational technology consultant since 2020, Wood’s work was recognized on April 17 by Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Experience with their Educator Excellence Award.

The award recognizes educators who innovate, excel and show exceptional support of education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Wood’s specialties are technology use, computer science and design thinking.

“I take a creative, out-of-the-box approach and constantly look for inspiration from different sources using a culturally responsive approach to design learning experiences,” she said in a press release.

Kent ISD superintendent Ron Koehler applauded Wood’s achievement. “To receive such an award from Air Zoo is a great honor for Sarah and Kent ISD as we strive for excellence in education every day.”
