All Districts — Sharing information, resources and one family’s story about addiction to the use of e-cigarettes, commonly known as vaping, are the goals of a community conversation at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 sponsored by the Kent County Health Department. “Talk Sooner: The Truth About Vaping”, will feature video segments from TV’s Maranda, discussion about how to talk with teens about vaping, a Q & A and health resources.
The free event requires registration and will be held both in person and via live stream. The in-person event takes place at the Health Department, 700 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49503.
Also participating are representatives from other health services in West Michigan that are part of Lakeshore Regional Entity, a collaborative effort to address substance-use disorders and other community health-related needs in Allegan, Kent, Lake, Mason, Muskegon, Oceana and Ottawa counties.
TalkSooner from LRE includes outreach campaigns on a variety of health issues, including alcohol and tobacco.
