Education Everywhere — West Michigan classrooms are invited to learn about holiday traditions from around the world with a field trip to the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park this holiday season.
The University of Michigan Health-West: Christmas & Holiday Traditions exhibition is open from Nov. 26 to Jan. 5. Teachers can add various learning options to field trips at no additional cost. Facilitation and materials are also available in Spanish.
The exhibition features more than 40 unique displays that honor diverse cultures and holiday traditions from around the world. Teachers can add visits to the Learning Lab and Discovery Station for hands-on experiences and activities. Exploration guides are also available to download for students.
The exhibition is also open to the public throughout the holiday season. The Grand Rapids Public Library and Kent District Library locations have passes that can be checked out for entry to the gardens, but they must be reserved in advance.
