New & ‘eccentric’ teachers can join VAI Ed’s Affinity Networks

Education Everywhere — The Van Andel Institute for Education has launched a trio of networks to inspire and encourage new and returning teachers. Two networks are still accepting signups.

The new Affinity Networks are for new teachers and “eccentric educators” of K-12 students. The deadline to sign up is Jan. 7, 2025.

Networks still open are:

  • The New Teacher Network is designed to give support and individualized guidance for beginning K-12 teachers, so they can succeed in their new roles.
  • The Network of Eccentric Educators is for innovative K-12 teachers who are driven to teach “outside the box,” according to the program description, and who are exploring the “most pressing issues” in education.

Both networks are $10 per teacher and participants can earn up to five State Continuing Education Clock Hours. Sessions are virtual. Get more information on the Van Andel Institute for Education website.
